Over de Anti-Bologna protesten, onder andere…

Elf en twaalf maart vonden studentenprotesten plaats in Wenen vanwege de gelijktijdige viering van het Bolognaproces door Europese onderwijsministers. Onder de slogan “Celebrating Bologna? We don’t think so.” nodigden Oostenrijkse en andere activisten alle Europese Bolognaprocesslachtoffers uit om het feest te verstoren. En dat is redelijk gelukt. Zie hieronder filmpjes, foto’s en meer informatie hierover…en over studentenacties elders in de wereld.

Dankzij een Spaanse groepering genaamd de Comisión Internacional Autonoma Barcelona, hebben we de acties in Wenen een beetje op een rijtje. In hun laatste nieuwsbrief schrijven ze over deze Anti-Bologna acties, maar lees vooral ook de rest over studentenacties in Griekenland, Frankrijk, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Colombia, Hongarije. En ook de Nederlandse studentenbeweging is door hun opgemerkt.

Vienna
10/03: A group of 500 people occupied the NIG building for accomodation – they de-occupied the next morning.

11/03: Demonstration, roadblocks and a siege of the parliament building. There were between 5k and 30k participants (according to different sources) and 3,000 police who attacked the crowd with tear gas. There were approx. 100 detained.

Greece
26/02 – 02/03: Occupation of the administration of the University of Aristotle in Athens (ΑΠΘ). A group destroyed the entrance of the university and put up with the police while another group entered through another entrance.
10/03: The cops have killed an activist in Athens, he was 35 and was called Lambros Foundas.

03/03: After a demonstration by public transport workers, police and brigades mobiles entered the University of Caldas with stun grenades, tear gas and water jets. They also arrested 64 students.

United Kingdom
05/03: After the occupation of the University of Sussex (Brighton, England) and the subsequent police repression (including dogs and tasers) 6 students have been expelled. Also, the management of the university have won a court order so that protest actions (which does not have the consent of the administration) are now automatically considered as crimes.

05/03: After 4 days of occupation, there was a demonstration with approx. 400 participants at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam (Netherlands). Students demonstrated together with university workers.
